Holiday Stress Rx: Emotional Wellness Toolbox with Julie Peters

It’s about to be the most wonderful time of the year: the time where cyclic grief, family baggage, bursts of anger, boundary issues, old traumas, and the heavy weight of guilt show up in their fine and fanciest. Not to mention it’s dark and cold outside!

Not to worry: in this two-hour workshop, Julie will offer tools for emotional wellness collected from yoga, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence to help you survive the holidays. We will work together to access specific skills and strategies we can use when the holidays trigger our most difficult stuff so we can handle it with grace--and maybe even enjoy some of it, too.

This workshop will include conversation, meditation, and journaling. We will not do any yoga postures except for sitting and/or lying down on the floor. No yoga or meditation experience is required for this workshop.

Julie Peters, E-RYT 500, MA is a writer, yoga teacher, and co-owner of Ocean and Crow Yoga. Her work largely focuses on how yoga, mindfulness, and meditation can help us live richer lives and find our own ways of healing ourselves. She is a staff writer for Spirituality and Health Magazine and is the author of the books Secrets of the Eternal Moon Phase Goddesses: Meditations on Desire, Relationships, and the Art of Being Broken (SkyLight Paths 2016) and Want: 8 Steps to Recovering Desire, Passion, and Pleasure After Sexual Assault (Mango 2019).
