Chair Yoga for Wellbeing at Any Age with Katie Blecker

CAD$189Purchase required to enroll

Chair yoga is a simple, fun, safe, and healthy way to start a yoga practice, especially if getting up and down from the floor is challenging. In this 6 week progressive series, we will explore a gentle and adaptive hatha yoga practice using both seated and standing postures. Through this practice, we will work on mobility, muscle strength, balance, calming the mind, and the many health and wellness benefits yoga can bring to our lives with the assistance of a simple everyday chair.

Expect a mix of movements for strength, balance, and mobility designed to introduce you to a range of classic yoga postures using the support of a chair. We’ll include some functional movement techniques to improve range of motion and stability through your joints. Each class will also include beginner-friendly breathwork and meditation techniques that you can bring into your daily life to promote stress-reduction and ease.

This series is designed with older adults in mind, but is also perfect for anyone looking for a gentle introduction to yoga with the support of a chair. We will not be getting up and down from the floor in this class, but a portion of each session will include supported standing and balancing work. Space in these classes is limited to 6 pre-registered participants to ensure lots of one-on-one support throughout our time together. There will be lots of opportunities to ask questions and Katie is happy to accommodate any requests that you may have.
