Movement and Stillness: Hatha Flow and Yoga Nidra with Katie Blecker

In this 75 minute all-levels class, you will experience a nourishing combination of dynamic movement, grounding breathwork, and deep relaxation. The first part of class is dedicated to an accessible flow practice designed to move your body and focus your mind. We will explore a bit of challenge with some all-levels standing poses, balancing poses, core strengthening, and weight bearing on the hands (Downward Dog) as well as some delicious stretches for the legs, shoulders, and hips. The final part of class will include a restorative Savasana as you are guided through a specific, multi-layered Yoga Nidra meditation. Yoga Nidra is the art and science of deep, conscious relaxation. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra compares to 3-4 hours of regular sleep.

This class provides space for you to experience both movement and stillness as a means to connect deeply within. Beginners are welcome.

6 classes, Sundays, 6:00-7:15pm, January 6th-February 10th. $102+tax before January 3rd, $114+tax after.

Katie's signature teaching style is a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, with space held for students to explore embodied movement in their own intuitive ways. Her work is informed by her teachers' backgrounds in the Anusara, Iyengar, and Vinyasa traditions. She also teaches chair yoga for seniors as an accessible path to practicing asana, breathwork, and meditation, as well as Yoga Nidra. Katie is a 550 hour certified teacher with the Canadian Yoga Alliance (CYA-RYT 550). She has received the majority of her training from the Vancouver School of Healing Arts under the guidance of Rebekka Walker and a number of other incredible educators. Katie is certified to teach Yoga Nidra thanks to the wisdom and guidance of teacher Steve Fazzari. Katie is passionate about holding space for students to develop sustainable practices, with a focus on self-love, resiliency, and introspection.
