Immerse yourself in nourishing movement to release and relax. Expect to refine your technique, strengthen and stretch, while diving into meditative breath to cultivate calm. Opening with creative movement, we gradually unwind into stillness, guiding you through a journey of deep relaxation and self-discovery. Each class incorporates a unique theme to inspire curiosity, reflection and a deeper connection to our own body and mind. Expect some downward dogs, standing postures, balancing, core work, backbends, and more, with modifications for all levels. Beginners are welcome.

Yin Yoga: Stretch, Breathe, Release with Nikki LeClair (7 classes, Jan-Feb 2020) CAD$139.65 • 7 visits •

Experience gentle healing with a nourishing breath and guided meditation practice. Expect to rest in long held postures that target myofascial release in the neck, shoulders, hips, spine and feet to release physical and mental tension. We will compliment the yin postures by opening class with self-massage practices such as rolling on a ball or dowel to create more space in the body and facilitate a deeper stretch. This class will use many props, blankets and sandbags to facilitate deep restoration and rebalance the nervous system. By targeting connective tissue and the nervous system, this practice can help reduce pain, soothe the anxious mind, reset the digestive system, and support the endocrine and immune systems. This class is accessible for everyone, including those working with injuries and limited joint mobility. You don't need to be flexible to benefit from the class, you just need to breathe!

Yoga for a Happy Body and a Calm Mind with Alex Hughes (7 classes, Jan-Feb 2020) CAD$139.65 • 7 visits •

This class is really more of a physiotherapy and self restoring style of yoga, not the kind that does fancy tricks and makes you over-bendy. We just want to have quiet bodies that don’t bother us every day and quiet minds that don’t make us more stressed than we need to be. Although it’s not a super hard class, we do core work, gently flowing through yoga postures with breath, and finish with some wonderful stretches and self massage goodness. It’s real. It’s nice. It’s for every body. It’s for every level. It’s just yoga for humans.

Yin/Yang Yoga: Move, Breathe Stretch with Haley Plaa (7 classes, Jan-Feb 2020) CAD$139.65 • 7 visits •

Wring out the kinks in your body with intuitive, thoughtful movement. In the first part of this class, we will move through strong postures to warm and strengthen the body, and then balance out in the second part of the class with soft, relaxing, supported, long-held stretches. This class is designed to help you move stress out so that when you slow down and come towards the ground, you will be able to melt into your body fully. It’s the perfect balance of strength and surrender.

This class will include downward dog, active twists, backbends, and forward folds, as well as long-held Yin postures on the floor supported with props. All levels welcome, including beginners. Expect some hands-on support.

Want a great start to your weekend? Join Meghan Goodman, certified Iyengar yoga instructor, for an alignment based practice that will help you feel more centered and energized. The teaching will focus on building stable and healthy foundations. We will work on improving concentration and developing inner awareness so that the postures become a form of ‘meditation in action’, integrating the body, mind and breath. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and we will discover together how the use of yoga props can assist us to find our optimal flow of energy, to support when needed, and to move deeper into the postures safely. The specific content of the course will be tailored for the students enrolled. Students who are beginners, pregnant or are working with injuries are welcome to join us, just please make sure to get your care provider’s approval first.

This pass gives you access to everything on the schedule between Jan 4th and Feb 29th (8 weeks)

This pass entitles you to pre-enroll in one class of your choice, ensuring your spot in that class. Email Julie at oceanandcrow@gmail.com to indicate which one you'd like.

$243+tax before Jan 2nd, $288+tax after.

This pass is valued at slightly less than the average of two classes within a session. If purchased before Jan 2nd, it works out to $32/week or $16/class if you come twice a week, $10.66/class if you come three times, and so on. It's the best option if you'd like to take more than one weekly class on the schedule (a regular session works out to $17/class for most classes, while drop in is $23).

This pass comes with one Bonus class you can use to bring a friend to class within your session.

Once you have your pass, please enroll online for whichever classes you'd like to attend using the schedule. You may do this as early as you like, especially as some classes tend to sell out.

Meghan Goodman is an Iyengar yoga instructor, professional dance artist and mother. She began practicing yoga in 1998 and teaching in 2006, after completing a 200-hour teacher training program through Flow Yoga. Seeking more information on how to work with a wider range of students, Meghan began her studies of Iyengar yoga in 2008. With the guidance of Louie Ettling, Meghan completed the Intro 2 teaching certification in 2013 and the Intermediate Junior 1 certification in 2017. For Meghan, Iyengar yoga has become the steady path to finding stability and space in the body, the antidote to a physically demanding and busy lifestyle, and a method for moving deeper in the practice with intelligence and care.
