Everybody is welcome in this gentle and adaptive hatha yoga class that is intended for a range of abilities. The focus of this class is to make yoga accessible to your unique needs, whether you’d prefer to practice on your yoga mat, seated in a chair, or a combination of the two. Expect a mix of movements for strength, balance, and mobility designed to introduce you to a range of classic yoga postures, as well as practices to cultivate inner awareness such as beginner-friendly breathwork and meditation. The emphasis will always be on choice-making and moving in a way that feels good and supportive in your body. This class is suitable for all levels of experience, as well as various mobility levels, including if you use a walker, have balance issues, or simply want a gentle, holistic yoga practice to support your inner and outer body.
If you have yoga props available, they may come in handy. If you choose a seated practice, you’ll need a basic chair that has a back and no arms.
This class is online, so check with your health practitioner before you start class to ensure it's safe for you to do so. Do not push yourself or do anything that causes pain. You will be able to ask your teacher questions and let them know about injuries before class.
*Register at least 1 hour before class in order to get the link to the Zoom studio. You will be deducted a visit if you cancel less than an hour before class.
