*Complimentary Sample: Virtual Replenishing Yin with Ashley Jestin

Free

In this deeply nourishing all-levels yin class, we will release tension of all kinds: bodily, mental, and even emotional, if that feels safe and workable for you. The practice will consist of a handful of deep stretches done on the floor, held for several minutes at a time. The yin practice is all about yielding to gravity and as such the majority of postures require little to no muscular effort. This means that you are invited to join us, even, and especially, if you’re tired. Options, modifications, and variations of postures will be offered so that a safe shape is available for every body, even for students that may have injuries or students that are pregnant. This a full body yin: we will release through the back, front of the chest, hips, hamstrings, and even massage the organs with some reclined twists. Meditative themes or contemplations will be offered but all teachings, physical and otherwise, are given in trauma-sensitive and invitational language. The class is designed as an invitation to draw inward, to slow down, and to be replenished by breath and the act of getting quiet within yourself.

This class is online, so check with your health practitioner before you start class to ensure it's safe for you to do so. Do not push yourself or do anything that causes pain. You will be able to ask your teacher questions and let them know about injuries before class.

This is a complimentary sample of a new class on our schedule that will be offered on Mondays at 4:30pm.

Ashley is a Kinesiologist and a 500-hour Yoga Alliance Registered instructor trained in Hatha, Power, Yin, Restorative, Pain Care and Prenatal Yoga. No matter the style she is teaching, she offers guided meditation queues throughout class and moments to pause, reflect, and reignite the breath. Ashley gives many options for students of all levels, ages, and body types in her classes. She strongly encourages students to personalize their practice and therefore she uses trauma-sensitive language to create a space where everyone can listen to their own body's wisdom first and her suggestions second. Drawing from her Kinesiology background, Ashley’s classes are alignment oriented with an emphasis on strength, stability and injury prevention. Her greatest passion is to create a space where students are able to take a break from their busy lives, unwind, and connect to their body, mind and spirit.
