Pregnancy can be wonderful and exciting, but it can also come with a host of anxieties, mood swings, and mental health changes. Yoga can help us calm down, regulate the nervous system, and teach stress management skills that will benefit both parent and baby. Yoga can also ease the aches and pains of pregnancy and help to prepare the body for the birth process. It is especially beneficial when we can do it in community where we have a chance to get to know other pregnant people.

Join Julie for a special live, interactive, online prenatal class via Zoom that will help with building community, managing stress and anxiety, and of course caring for the growing and changing needs of your body.

Each class will begin with a 15-minute (ish) check-in so you can get to know the other pregnant people who are in the same boat with you. Then we will move through an hourlong full-body sequence focusing on the postures and breathing exercises that feel best for a pregnant body, including pelvic floor and pregnancy-specific abdominal work to prepare for a healthy delivery and postpartum recovery. Appropriate for any trimester. Beginners welcome. Check with your practitioner before you start a yoga practice to make sure it’s safe for your body.

*If you cannot make class, you will be sent a recording afterward (but please do attend online if you can in order to participate in the check-in!). If you miss a class, you may instead make it up with any online class on the regular schedule, most of which are pregnancy-friendly.

Julie has been teaching yoga for over a decade, and she is an experienced facilitator who has worked one-on-one with many people who deal with anxiety, stress, and trauma. She is trained in pre-and post-natal yoga, as well as many other styles including trauma-informed practice and counselling skills.
