Movement and Stillness: Hatha Flow and Yoga Nidra with Katie Blecker (7 classes, May-June 2019)

In this 75 minute all-levels class, you will experience a nourishing combination of dynamic movement, grounding breathwork, and deep relaxation. The first part of class is dedicated to an accessible flow practice designed to move your body and focus your mind. We will explore a bit of challenge with some all-levels standing poses, balancing poses, core strengthening, and weight bearing on the hands (Downward Dog) as well as some delicious stretches for the legs, shoulders, and hips. The final part of class will include a restorative Savasana as you are guided through a specific, multi-layered Yoga Nidra meditation. Yoga Nidra is the art and science of deep, conscious relaxation. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra compares to 3-4 hours of regular sleep.

This class provides space for you to experience both movement and stillness as a means to connect deeply within. Beginners are welcome.


7 classes, Sundays, 6:00-7:15pm, April 28th-June 16th. No class May 12th. $119+tax before April 19th, $133+tax after.

*Registration for the full class comes with one Bonus Class that may be used before the end of the session for any other class on the schedule that allows drop-ins or to bring a friend to class (space permitting; please enroll online before class). You may make up two missed classes within your session (space permitting).

Katie holds over 550 hours of yoga teacher training in a variety of styles including Hatha, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, and Yin. She completed her 500 hour teaching certification with Rebekka Walker at the Vancouver School of Healing Arts in 2018. Katie’s classes are down-to-earth, thematic, and inspired by insights from her own life and practice. Fusing relevant combinations of mindfulness, movement, and introspective stillness, her classes are designed to leave you feeling present and connected to yourself and the world around you.
