Balance and Breathe: Gentle Hatha with Katie Blecker (7 classes, Nov-Dec 2019)

In this all-levels hatha class we will explore gentle movement, accessible yoga postures, breath, and mindfulness. With an emphasis on choice and moving in a way that supports your own unique body, we will look at some interesting ways you might integrate exploratory alignment/movement into your yoga asana practice. Throughout each class there will be opportunities to experience a combination of gentle strengthening, stability, mobility, and stretching. Expect a 75 minute class that supports and nourishes, while holding the space for you to make your practice your own.

*Registration for the full class comes with one Bonus Class that may be used before the end of the session for any other class on the schedule that allows drop-ins or to bring a friend to class (space permitting; please enroll online before class). You may make up two missed classes within your session (space permitting).

Katie Blecker, RYT-550, offers yoga and meditation as accessible tools for cultivating connection, embodiment, and ease in everyday life. In working personally with multiple injuries and illness, Katie has experienced firsthand how physical yoga postures and movement practices can either help or hinder certain conditions, depending on the approach. Through trial and error, study, and working with diverse populations, she has developed an exploratory and mindful approach to yoga that prioritizes personal agency, curiosity, and self-awareness.


Katie facilitates practices of yin, hatha, restorative, chair yoga, and meditation. Her classes generally include lots of props, options and variations, and a sustainable approach to physical practice. Katie offers group classes and private 1:1 sessions.
